MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To perform, inspect, review, and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities within the Composite Shop, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, the company Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), GCAA CAR Part V, GCAA CAR-145, EASA Part-145, approved technical data, and company procedures, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, process control, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs, inspects, reviews, and certifies scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on composite components and structures in accordance with approved technical data and the limitations of company-issued authorizations.
  • Ensures all composite maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with the company MOE, applicable regulatory requirements, approved structural repair manuals, component maintenance manuals, engineering instructions, process specifications, and company procedures.
  • Assesses composite components and structures for defects, including but not limited to delamination, disbonding, impact damage, cracking, moisture ingress, core damage, surface deterioration, and dimensional deviation.
  • Determines and applies approved repair schemes, including but not limited to scarf repairs, stepped repairs, bonded repairs, core replacement, laminate restoration, and surface-finishing activities.
  • Performs or verifies composite preparation and repair processes, including but not limited to cutting, sanding, lay-up, resin mixing, adhesive application, vacuum bagging, bonding, curing, trimming, drilling, and finishing.
  • Verifies that required process parameters, including but not limited to temperature, pressure, vacuum level, curing time, humidity, resin ratio, and material orientation, are correctly controlled, monitored, and recorded.
  • Ensures composite materials, including but not limited to prepregs, resins, adhesives, fibres, fabrics, cores, fillers, and consumables, are correctly identified, compatible, within shelf life, appropriately stored, and fully traceable.
  • Maintains appropriate environmental and contamination controls during composite maintenance activities, including but not limited to temperature, humidity, cleanliness, material handling, and protection of prepared surfaces.
  • Ensures ovens, autoclaves, hot bonders, vacuum systems, temperature controllers, measuring devices, cutting equipment, tools, and associated facilities are approved, serviceable, appropriately certified, and within their calibration or inspection validity before use.
  • Performs or verifies applicable inspection and testing activities, including but not limited to visual inspection, tap testing, dimensional checks, bond verification, cure-record review, and other approved non-destructive inspection methods.
  • Verifies the quality, structural integrity, conformity, and completeness of completed composite maintenance work before certification and release.
  • Completes and certifies work orders, job cards, repair records, cure charts, material-control records, inspection reports, and supporting maintenance documentation accurately, legibly, and within the required timelines.
  • Identifies resource, tooling, equipment, material, environmental-control, technical-data, or operational constraints that may affect composite maintenance delivery and escalates them with practical recommendations.
  • Supports internal, external, customer, quality, safety, and regulatory audits and assists in addressing findings and implementing agreed corrective actions.
  • Maintains the validity of all required personal authorizations, approvals, qualifications, and competencies and promotes compliance with safety, environmental, hazardous-material, personal protective equipment, and human factors requirements while supporting continuous improvement in composite repair quality and process capability.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree (2 years)
  • Diploma in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Fluent in English
  • 3 years relevant experience of which 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry covering a combination of experience in aircraft or component or workshop maintenance. Hands-on experience within Composite Shop.
  • Working knowledge of AMOS & MS-Office is preferred.
  • Years with qualifications: 3 - 5 years
  • CAR-147 approved GCAA module 9 & 10 is mandatory. PART-147 approved EASA module 9 & 10 is preferred.
  • UAE GCAA basic license without type or Company Authorization. Previous relevant Company authorization.

Isr Requirements

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
