Context

Quality Manager

Missions/Main Duties

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP), in compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO 9001), client requirements, and local regulations.
  • Oversee all QA/QC activities for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual specifications, relevant codes, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure effective coordination between project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of construction sites, design deliverables, and project documentation.
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions for non-conformities.
  • Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and materials approvals.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, KPIs, and progress summaries to senior management and clients.
  • Manage training and awareness programs for project teams on QA/QC systems and processes.
  • Provide expert advice on quality issues, risk management, and continual improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with client representatives and regulatory bodies regarding quality issues and project compliance.
  • Support the handover and close-out process by validating as-built documentation and final quality records.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Background

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in QA/QC management for major infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on rail or transportation sectors.
  • Previous experience in high-speed rail projects (preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of international and UAE local quality standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Hold relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, IRCA, PMI-QMP, etc.).
  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in MS Office, QA/QC software, and document management systems.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced project environment.
  • Preferably with GCC and UAE Experience.
