Job Description

Working as a Maintenance and Service Technician requires a blend of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the efficiency and longevity of various systems and equipment. The role predominantly involves regular inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices within facilities. A successful technician in this role will be adept at identifying issues, providing effective solutions, and maintaining seamless operations while minimizing any potential disruptions. This position calls for a detail-oriented individual who is keen on safety standards, has strong diagnostic skills, and can work autonomously or as part of a team. The applicant should also be ready to handle emergencies and willing to be periodically on call, providing round-the-clock support if required, to safeguard the integrity of operations. Candidates will often interact not only with fellow technicians and maintenance staff but also with external vendors and contractors, necessitating robust communication skills and the ability to provide clear, concise reports.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular checks and preventive maintenance on all assigned systems and equipment.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot problems in a timely and efficient manner across different types of equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using the necessary hand or power tools.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance reports and equipment logs detailing completed work.
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to plan and coordinate larger projects.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Test and monitor equipment performance post-maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to less experienced technicians when necessary.
  • Interact with equipment suppliers and vendors to source necessary parts and tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in workspaces to prevent hazards and improve efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest maintenance techniques and technologies through continual learning.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment and request restocks promptly.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance and Service Technician or a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to promptly diagnose issues.
  • Strong ability to read and understand technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear reporting.
  • Flexibility to work in varying conditions and to handle on-call responsibilities.
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and company guidelines.
