The Training Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Pulse Novas manufacturing training and competency framework to ensure a skilled, compliant, and production-ready workforce.

The role oversees role-based training programs, operator certification, skills management, and standardized work while ensuring alignment with quality, safety, and operational requirements.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and HSE, the Training Lead drives workforce capability, training governance, and continuous improvement to support operational excellence within a regulated defense manufacturing environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, deploy and maintain the training system to support safe, repeatable and high‑quality production execution
  • Define role‑based training paths and manage the skills matrix, ensuring onboarding, certification/ re‑certification are executed on time
  • Develop and maintain training standards and content (standard work, visual aids, work instructions, assessments) with strong document control
  • Execute operator qualification and skills testing, tracking training records and ensuring full traceability for audits and production readiness
  • Establish training governance with Production TL (cadence, metrics, audits) and coach leaders on on‑the‑job training best practices
  • Monitor training KPIs (time‑to‑competence, certification coverage, training compliance) and link outcomes to shopfloor performance (FPY, defects, scrap)
  • Ensure training is updated and deployed after engineering changes or process updates (ECNs), and aligned with CI/Lean improvements

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7+ years in manufacturing training / industrial learning roles, preferably in high‑mix or high‑reliability production environments
  • Proven experience deploying skills matrices, certification frameworks and standardized work training at shopfloor level
  • Solid understanding of Lean/CI principles and daily management routines (standard work, 5S, problem solving)
  • Ability to create operator‑friendly training materials and assessments, and to run train‑the‑trainer / coaching programs
  • Experience working with Quality, Engineering and HSE to maintain training compliance, documentation and audit readiness
