The Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing strategic and operational procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant supply of materials supporting Pulse Novas manufacturing operations.

The role manages supplier relationships, sourcing, negotiations, purchase order execution, and supply risk while working closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to maintain material availability, optimize costs, and support business continuity within a regulated defense environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute purchasing activities (RFQ, supplier selection, PO placement, expediting) ensuring material availability for production and industrial operations
  • Lead negotiations and contracting within delegated authority, ensuring clear commercial terms, compliance and best‑value outcomes
  • Manage supplier performance (delivery, responsiveness, Q&A) using scorecards, driving corrective actions and escalation
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks (single‑source, long‑lead items, obsolescence), proposing dual sourcing and approved alternatives
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering and Quality to ensure technical alignment, specification clarity and controlled implementation of changes (ECR/ECN impacts)
  • Maintain purchasing master data quality in ERP (pricing, leads, supplier data), protecting planning accuracy and execution discipline
  • Support cost reduction, value engineering and make‑or‑buy discussions using market intelligence, benchmarking and total‑cost (TCO) thinking
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with internal procedures, documentation standards and applicable defense/regulatory requirements

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in procurement/buyer/purchasing roles within manufacturing or industrial environments (electronics/mechanical categories a plus)
  • Experience managing suppliers in regulated or defense sectors, with strong discipline in documentation and process compliance
  • Proven negotiation experience across multiple categories (electronics, mechanical parts, services)
  • Familiarity with ERP purchasing modules and procurement processes, including master‑data accuracy and audit readiness
  • Experience with long‑lead items and ramp‑up/NPI environments, including expedite vs cost trade‑offs
  • Understanding of quality requirements and supplier assurance fundamentals (incoming quality, SCAR support) preferred
