Strategic advisor

Job Purpose

To provide senior-level strategic and technical advice to executive leadership, supporting key business and project decisions, resolving complex matters, and ensuring major initiatives are aligned with organizational objectives, governance requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and expert guidance to executive leadership on key organizational, project, and business matters.

• Support executive management in evaluating major initiatives, projects, investments, and strategic priorities.

• Review complex project and business matters and provide independent recommendations to support informed decision-making.

• Advise leadership on project delivery strategies, governance, organizational priorities, risks, and opportunities.

• Provide oversight and strategic input into major programmes and projects, identifying areas requiring executive attention or intervention.

• Review executive reports, business cases, project proposals, strategies, and recommendations prior to senior-level decision-making.

• Identify emerging strategic, operational, commercial, and project risks and advise on appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Support the resolution of complex or high-impact issues involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide guidance on organizational governance, policies, procedures, and decision-making frameworks.

• Participate in executive and steering committee meetings, providing strategic advice and recommendations as required.

• Engage with senior government representatives, clients, consultants, partners, and other key stakeholders where required.

• Provide independent challenge and assurance on significant proposals, project strategies, and management recommendations.

• Conduct strategic reviews and assessments to identify opportunities for performance improvement, efficiency, and organizational development.

• Support executive leadership in establishing priorities and monitoring progress against strategic objectives.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to senior leaders and project teams where required.

• Remain abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, market conditions, and emerging practices relevant to the organization and its projects.

• Undertake special assignments, strategic reviews, and other executive-level initiatives as directed by senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or another relevant discipline.

• Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be preferred.

• Minimum 15–20 years of relevant professional experience, including substantial experience in senior leadership, executive advisory, or strategic management roles.

• Relevant professional or industry accreditation would be an advantage.

• Extensive senior leadership and advisory experience within large, complex organizations or major project environments.

• Significant experience within real estate development, construction, infrastructure, government, investment, or a related sector would be preferred.

• Demonstrated experience advising executive leadership and supporting complex strategic and project-related decisions.

• Strong understanding of corporate and project governance, risk management, commercial considerations, and organizational strategy.

• Proven ability to engage and influence executive-level and senior external stakeholders.
