About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist - Business Intelligence with a strong background in dashboard development and data analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with BI tools such as Spotfire and Power BI, with a deep understanding of data modelling, complex datasets, and the integration of cloud-based data sources. This role also requires expertise in working with APIs, relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), and the ability to deliver actionable insights through sophisticated data visualization. Experience in the Oil & Gas domain will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Spotfire
• Build dashboards with dynamic filters, expressions & advanced visuals
• Use JavaScript API for UI enhancements
• Create heatmaps, scatter plots, treemaps & maps
• Integrate R/Python via Data Functions
• Optimize performance using in-memory tables & indexing
• Connect to databases, cloud sources & REST APIs
  

• Develop dashboards with Power Query & DAX
• Implement drillthrough, RLS & slicers
• Publish via Power BI Service & embed in apps
• Build tabular models for performance
• Automate reports with Power BI API
  
  

• Deliver insights from raw data
• Design models for complex reporting
• Ensure accuracy through validation
  
  

• Write SQL for Oracle/PostgreSQL ETL
• Integrate data from Azure & AWS
• Use Azure Data Lake & AWS S3
  
  

• Extract, transform & load data via REST APIs
• Automate ingestion into BI tools
  
  

• Handle large datasets efficiently
• Optimize models, queries & visuals
• Apply best practices for speed & scale
  
  

• Work with analysts, developers & stakeholders
• Train users & support adoption
• Document BI solutions
  
  

• Experience & Expertise:
• 3+ years of experience as a BI Developer, with a focus on dashboard design and development using Spotfire and Power BI.
• Strong experience in Data Analysis, including data wrangling, transformation, and visualization.
• Extensive experience in data modelling, including composite data models, star schema design, and creating optimized data models for BI tools.
• Proven experience working with large, complex datasets and ensuring data integrity.
• Experience working with data in the Oil & Gas industry, such as exploration, production, refinery, or
  
  

• Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of Spotfire features, including dynamic filtering, custom expressions, data functions, and JavaScript API.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, Tabular models, Power BI Service, and Power BI API.
• Proficiency in querying Oracle and PostgreSQL databases using SQL.
• Strong experience with REST APIs for data integration and automation.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including data integration and storage solutions.
• Experience with ETL processes and tools for data extraction and transformation.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of additional BI tools or platforms.
• Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
• Certification in BI tools (Spotfire, Power BI, etc.)
• Experience working with Oil & Gas data such as asset management, production optimization, resource management, or field data analytics is highly desirable.
