The role of a Software Tester is critical in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications before they reach the end users. As a Software Tester, you will be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. You will conduct manual and automated testing to ensure the software is fit for purpose. You will meticulously assess software to find and document inconsistencies, bugs, and other aspects that require improvements. This position focuses on scrutinizing the software's performance, reliability, and security, ensuring that it aligns with user expectations and needs. Working collaboratively with developers and other stakeholders, you will drive quality and act as a gatekeeper to prevent defects from reaching the production environment. A detail-oriented approach along with solid problem-solving abilities will be key in succeeding in this role.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive test plans and strategies for assigned projects and tasks.
• Conduct detailed manual and automated tests on software applications.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using established tools and processes.
• Collaborate with software developers to understand features and resolve issues promptly.
• Review and analyze system specifications to provide feedback on product design and requirements.
• Execute regression testing to confirm previously fixed issues remain resolved.
• Participate in collaboration sessions with cross-functional teams for software releases.
• Prepare and maintain documentation on testing processes and outcomes accurately.
• Utilize automated testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance product quality.
• Ensure that all testing activities comply with established QA standards and guidelines.
• Communicate progress and issues effectively to help with timely decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing, preferably with both manual and automation testing.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Familiarity with test management software such as JIRA, TestRail, etc.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test plans.
• Knowledge of various programming languages, with scripting skills being a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset crucial for this role.
