About ADASI

ADASI is the regional leader in autonomous systems and services, dedicated to offering holistic solutions – from the development and production of unmanned systems to joint mission analysis and equipment acquisition. We manufacture, operate, and maintain next-generation autonomous capabilities for air, land, and sea, operating in demanding environments. Headquartered in the UAE, we are committed to advancing the region’s technological edge in defense innovation.

The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert – Fuel Systems to serve as the technical authority for the design, integration, and performance of fuel systems across ADASI’s UAV programs. This role plays a strategic and hands-on function in ensuring mission success through optimal fuel storage, distribution, and safety solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep aerospace knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership in system innovation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Lead end-to-end development of fuel system architecture including tanks, valves, pumps, lines, sensors, and inerting systems
  • Design systems aligned with mission endurance, center of gravity, safety, and platform constraints
  • Serve as the design authority for all fuel system subsystems across ADASI platforms

Requirements & Systems Engineering

  • Define system/component-level fuel system requirements and ensure full traceability
  • Oversee creation of interface control documents (ICDs), FMEAs, hazard analyses, and safety documentation
  • Translate operational needs into technical specifications and verification protocols

Integration & Testing

  • Lead integration efforts with propulsion, avionics, structures, and GSE interfaces
  • Conduct and oversee functional and environmental testing: flow validation, leak testing, endurance trials, and fault analysis
  • Ensure adherence to standards including MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and GCAA/UAE MoD requirements

Innovation & Strategic Planning

  • Evaluate new fuel technologies, composite integration, and hybrid system compatibility
  • Drive optimization in weight, volume, performance, and safety margin across programs
  • Contribute to cross-platform initiatives on sustainable and advanced fuel strategies

Mentoring & Knowledge Transfer

  • Provide hands-on mentorship to design engineers and systems analysts
  • Develop internal design guides, knowledge repositories, and standardization initiatives
  • Represent ADASI in technical forums, industry working groups, and customer engagements

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (REQUIRED)
  • Master’s in Fuel Systems, Aircraft Integration, or Propulsion Systems (PREFERRED)

Experience

  • 10+ years in aerospace fuel system design and integration
  • At least 4 years in a lead or SME role within UAVs, military aircraft, or rotary-wing platforms
  • Proven experience with composite tanks, pressurization, inerting, and advanced gauging systems

Technical Tools

  • CAD software (CATIA, Siemens NX)
  • Modeling and simulation: MATLAB/Simulink, Simcenter Amesim
  • Deep knowledge of gravity-fed and pressurized systems, fuel flow hardware, and environmental control
  • Familiarity with compliance standards: MIL-STD-810, DO-160, AS9100, SAE ARPs

Ideal Attributes

  • Technically authoritative with a passion for innovation
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to solve complex integration problems
  • Strong communicator and collaborator across engineering and executive levels
  • Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and documentation-focused
  • Confident in presenting to stakeholders and representing the company externally
