Job Description

The Shop Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of retail store operations. This position is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Shop Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with daily store activities, maintaining inventory levels, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting the store management team with various operational tasks. Your role will be significant in enhancing the overall customer experience and in achieving the store's sales objectives. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the retail store.
  • Support the store management in scheduling and conducting inventory checks regularly.
  • Help in monitoring stock levels and notifying management of potential shortages.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints tactfully.
  • Facilitate the setup of promotional displays and in-store marketing materials as directed.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new store employees and interns.
  • Ensure the accuracy of pricing and product placement across the store's inventory.
  • Process customer transactions efficiently using the store's point-of-sale system.
  • Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and customer feedback for management review.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to restock merchandise and address order discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and suggest solutions to management.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to achieving store performance goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is a plus.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
