A Senior Simulation Specialist is a senior member of the simulation education team, responsible for leading, coordinating, and executing advanced simulation-based learning activities within the medical simulation center. This role blends clinical expertise, educational facilitation, technical operations management, and strategic development to ensure the delivery of world-class experiential learning for medical students, residents, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals. The Senior Simulation Specialist will:
Serve as a certified instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Lead the operation and integration of high-fidelity simulation mannequins, task trainers, and immersive audiovisual systems.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the simulation center, including scheduling, equipment readiness, and resource allocation.
Act as a key liaison between faculty, students, and technical staff, ensuring seamless delivery of simulation activities aligned with institutional curricula.
Play a major role in SSH (Society for Simulation in Healthcare) accreditation preparation, compliance, and quality improvement processes.
Design, develop, and deliver innovative simulation scenarios, workshops, and interprofessional training programs. The role requires strong leadership, advanced technical skills, in-depth knowledge of healthcare education, and the ability to manage complex educational and operational demands simultaneously.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, other related healthcare specialties, medical education (Master’s preferred).
Current instructor certification in BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare simulation or clinical education.
Demonstrated expertise in operating high-fidelity mannequins, audiovisual systems, and simulation management software.
Experience delivering simulation-based education to medical students and interprofessional learners.
Familiarity with SSH accreditation standards and processes.
Preferred Qualification
Certification in simulation education (e.g., CHSOS, CHSE) preferred
Expected Skills
Strong instructional and facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt to varied learner
needs.
High-level technical troubleshooting ability.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage daily operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
