The Senior Product Owner for Digital Cards will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of digital card products (debit, credit, prepaid, and virtual cards) within the bank’s digital ecosystem. A key part of this role will be to lead the design, build, and launch of a new digital credit card business, ensuring alignment with local regulations, market dynamics, and customer needs.
Key Accountabilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and own the digital cards strategy aligned with the bank’s overall digital transformation goals.
Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap covering issuance, lifecycle management, and value-added features.
Benchmark against regional and global best practices in card digitization and payments.
Regional Expansion & New Market Launch
Lead the end-to-end setup of a new digital credit card business
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insight gathering to shape the product proposition.
Partner with local regulators, card schemes, and technology partners to ensure compliant and successful go-to-market execution.
Define scalable operating models to replicate digital card innovations across multiple countries.
Product Development & Delivery
Drive initiatives including virtual card issuance, tokenization, wallet integrations (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay), and instant issuance.
Write and prioritize epics, features, and user stories for digital card journeys.
Collaborate with technology, operations, compliance, and design teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Oversee UAT and ensure flawless go-live execution.
Customer Experience & Innovation
Continuously improve customer journeys across onboarding, activation, servicing, and rewards.
Leverage data, customer insights, and market research to identify gaps and opportunities.
Introduce innovative features such as card controls, spend management, loyalty integrations, and embedded finance use cases.
Stakeholder Management
Engage with senior management, business leaders, and external partners (Visa, Mastercard, fintechs, payment processors) to align on objectives.
Manage and influence key stakeholders across sales, marketing, risk, and compliance.
Regulatory & Risk Compliance
Ensure all digital card initiatives comply with UAE Central Bank and international card scheme regulations.
Partner with risk and fraud teams to embed strong controls while maintaining customer convenience.
