Job Description

The Senior Merchandising Officer - Electronics is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic planning and management of electronic product lines within the company. This position involves leading a team to enhance product offerings, optimizing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandising, supply chain management, and data analysis. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies for the electronics product category.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate customer demands and preferences effectively.
  • Lead a team of merchandisers in planning and execution of category plans.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to improve product visibility in stores.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure product availability and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor the performance of products in the market and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct regular sales forecasts and adjust inventory and sales strategies as needed.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure high-quality product standards are maintained.
  • Participate in product development and selection based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Supervise the merchandising team, providing guidance and training as necessary.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate merchandising performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in electronics.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Proven ability to negotiate successfully with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Ability to forecast sales trends and align merchandising efforts with market changes.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and related tools is highly desirable.
