Overview
We are looking for a Senior Manager - Investment AI Platform to serve as the resident investment practitioner within the (in)Alpha product team. You will translate how investment professionals screen opportunities, run diligence, prepare committee materials, and monitor portfolios into product requirements and clear standards for analytical quality.
You will work closely with product, engineering, AI, growth, and client investment teams. The role combines deep product contribution with a substantial client-facing remit, representing (in)Alpha as a credible peer to private equity, private credit, venture, sovereign wealth, and other institutional investors.
This is a permanent, full-time individual-contributor role with significant influence over the platform and no direct reports at hire. The position is based in Abu Dhabi and involves regular travel across the GCC, with occasional international travel for client engagements. You will operate in a fast-moving product environment where priorities evolve and strong judgment, precise communication, and high ownership are essential.
What You’ll Own
- Define how (in)Alpha modules should behave against real investment practice, including screening, diligence workstreams, data-room handling, investment committee materials, and portfolio monitoring and reporting.
- Author and maintain the reference artefacts that guide product development, including model investment committee memos, diligence question sets, decision criteria, scoring frameworks, and peer-benchmarking conventions.
- Work through backlog refinement with product and engineering, resolving practitioner-level questions on scope, behaviour, and edge cases before features are built.
- Pressure-test proposed features against fund governance, regulated processes, committee dynamics, and judgment-led decisions; identify where a workflow will fail in real deal-team use.
- Review AI-generated memos, summaries, comparables, extracted metrics, and monitoring insights for analytical soundness, appropriate treatment of uncertainty, and correct use of source evidence.
- Define the quality bar for each analytical output and work with the AI team to translate investment judgment into evaluation criteria that can be tested consistently across releases.
- Identify plausible but incorrect outputs, including misread covenants, misstated valuation logic, and false peer matches, and drive each issue to resolution with clear ownership.
- Set standards for citation, traceability, and source transparency so analysts can defend platform-generated figures and conclusions in front of an investment or credit committee.
- Lead the investment-domain contribution to product demonstrations, discovery sessions, and executive conversations with funds, sovereign wealth institutions, and other investors.
- Run design-partner relationships end to end, eliciting workflow detail at the level of individual artefacts and converting evidence into prioritized product input.
- Support deployments by advising client teams on how to configure templates, taxonomies, decision criteria, and existing diligence or committee processes within the platform.
- Contribute domain substance to proposals, RFP responses, and thought-leadership material in support of commercial teams, without direct ownership of the revenue target.
- Maintain a practitioner’s view of the competitive landscape and GCC market requirements, including regional deal structures, reporting conventions, and Arabic-language needs.
- Bring structured client evidence into roadmap and pricing discussions, and establish durable workflow references and evaluation standards that reduce avoidable output defects and product rework.
What We’re Looking For
- Substantial experience, typically 6+ years, in private equity, private credit, growth equity, or an institutional or sovereign investment environment, with direct ownership of transactions from sourcing through diligence and investment committee review.
- Demonstrable experience preparing and defending investment committee materials, including memo authorship, valuation and LBO analysis, and management of diligence workstreams.
- Working command of core investment-process artefacts, including data rooms, diligence trackers, peer benchmarking, decision frameworks, and portfolio reporting packs.
- Strong investment judgment and analytical scepticism, with the ability to distinguish decision-relevant evidence from interesting detail and detect credible-sounding but incorrect outputs.
- Ability to explain investment reasoning precisely to engineers, AI practitioners, designers, commercial teams, and client executives without diluting its analytical meaning.
- A track record of shaping decisions through evidence and persuasion in cross-functional, advisory, or committee settings without relying on formal authority.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage product environment where processes are still being defined, priorities can move, and progress depends on sound judgment and direct communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a comparable discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a general partner, sovereign wealth fund, or regional institutional investor.
- Prior involvement in a technology, data, or transformation initiative within an investment firm, such as an internal deal-management, diligence, or reporting platform.
- A CFA or CAIA charter, or active progress toward one.
- Experience across both private equity and private credit workflows.
- Hands-on use or formal evaluation of AI-assisted research, diligence, or document-analysis tools.
