Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, offers 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites, six private pool villas, and 161 fully furnished serviced apartments featuring a one-kilometre private beach which blends modern Arabic design with exceptional comfort.

As a Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant by ensuring an authentic Chinese dining experience provided to the guests while maintaining Shangri-La’s luxury hospitality standards. Also, you will lead and develop the team, drive service excellence and revenue performance, and ensure high levels of guest satisfaction. And you will work closely with the culinary and beverage teams to maintain operational efficiency, quality, and consistency across all aspects of the outlet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Shang Palace, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the restaurant team to consistently deliver luxury Chinese dining and hospitality standards.
  • Monitor restaurant revenue, food and beverage costs, inventory, and other financial targets to achieve business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, handle feedback professionally, and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to promote Chinese cuisine, menu offerings, and beverage pairings while maintaining quality and consistency.

About You

  • Fluent in Chinese and English, with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Chinese cuisine, culture, dining etiquette, and service practices.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience in revenue generation, upselling, and cost control.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional appearance, cultural awareness, and a strong passion for hospitality.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Training or certification in Food Safety and HACCP is advantageous and additional training in Chinese cuisine, wine, tea, or beverage service is an advantage.
  • 5–7 years of Food & Beverage experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Restaurant Manager or equivalent leadership position.
  • Previous experience managing a Chinese restaurant or Chinese specialty outlet is preferred.
  • Experience managing Chinese-speaking guests and understanding their dining preferences and expectations.
  • Strong experience in team leadership, guest relations, revenue management, cost control, and restaurant operations.
