Job Description

The Reservations Agent plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction for an establishment by managing both inbound and outbound reservation requests. In this role, the agent is responsible for assisting customers in booking reservations, answering inquiries, and resolving issues. Whether working for hotels, airlines, or restaurants, a Reservations Agent must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will also possess strong organizational skills and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism. This position demands a good understanding of the reservation systems and the ability to build relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.


Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and courteously to all incoming reservation inquiries and requests.
  • Assist customers in comprehensively understanding the services and options available.
  • Manage and update reservation systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues related to reservations effectively.
  • Confirm and process reservations accurately, providing confirmations to clients.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all pricing, promotions, and offers available.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and ensure proper documentation of bookings.
  • Assist in training new staff on reservation policies and procedures as required.
  • Upsell additional services or products to maximize the organization’s revenue.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with customers for repeat business.
  • Stay informed of any changes in services, policies, or reservation systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in reservation software systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills are crucial for success.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
