JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Planner – Well Services is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating operational activities to ensure Well Services equipment, tools, and materials are available and ready to support field operations. The role manages work orders, maintenance schedules, material availability, procurement follow-up, and resource planning to meet customer commitments while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance by ensuring all activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with Company Security, Compliance, Quality, and HSE policies, applicable regulations, and industry standards.
  • Promote Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSE) excellence by ensuring Well Services operations are executed safely and efficiently without compromising personnel, assets, customers, or the environment.
  • Support compliance with the Company's Management System and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritize service quality and operational readiness to ensure timely execution of Well Services activities.
  • Plan and schedule work orders for Well Services equipment, tools, and assets to support field operations.
  • Coordinate equipment preparation, inspection, maintenance, refurbishment, and certification activities to ensure operational readiness.
  • Monitor new service requests and prioritize work according to operational requirements and customer commitments.
  • Review and update planned completion dates, equipment readiness dates, and mobilization schedules based on operational meetings and changing field priorities.
  • Generate and manage work orders while coordinating with maintenance, workshops, logistics, procurement, warehouse, and field operations teams.
  • Monitor critical orders and expedite materials, spare parts, and equipment required for upcoming Well Services jobs.
  • Liaise with procurement and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of critical components and services.
  • Track material availability using MRP/ERP systems and resolve shortages that could impact field operations.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure equipment and materials are mobilized to job locations on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate planning records, work order status, and operational reports.
  • Participate in daily planning meetings to align operational priorities, equipment readiness, and resource availability.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, field personnel, suppliers, and management to ensure seamless execution of Well Services activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning efficiency, equipment utilization, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Perform any additional planning or operational duties assigned by the Planning Supervisor, Operations Manager, or Well Services Management.

Skills

  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Well Services environment.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and ERP systems.
  • Understanding of Well Services equipment lifecycle, maintenance planning, and field operations.
  • Strong coordination skills across Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, and Supply Chain.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of planning, scheduling, operations, or supply chain experience, preferably within Oil & Gas Well Services, Energy Services, or an MRP-driven operational environment.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Well Services equipment planning, maintenance coordination, and field operations is an advantage.
