Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry, providing essential medical care and support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. An RN is responsible for assessing, observing, and speaking to patients, recording details and symptoms of the patient's conditions and medical history, and ensuring that all treatments and procedures are followed according to standards of care. As a compassionate caregiver, the RN must possess excellent critical thinking skills, be adept at making quick, effective decisions in emergencies, and be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. This role demands a high level of integrity, diligence, and the ability to handle stressful situations with poise and professionalism. The RN must follow all safety policies and maintain the confidentiality of patient information, while also working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ conditions by performing physical examinations and gathering health history.
  • Administer medications and treatments, ensuring patients’ safety and care standards compliance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health issues.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions to physicians.
  • Set up or operate medical equipment and monitor their operation during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documentation, and care plans.
  • Participate in patient discharge planning and facilitate continuity of care post-discharge.
  • Ensure infection control policies and procedures are followed in all clinical settings.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing aides.
  • Maintain nursing supplies inventory and anticipate needs for additional resources.
  • Stay informed about current medical technology and treatment trends for professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Valid  RN license .
  • Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and familiarity with healthcare technology and software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare practice.
