The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at our renowned medical facility is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the position of PICU RN 19N40. Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing care tailored to critically ill pediatric patients.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by attending physicians.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients' families and caregivers.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Use advanced medical equipment and technology to monitor patient health status.
  • Participate in and, at times, lead emergency response protocols as required.
  • Assure adherence to infection control practices and other safety standards.
  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvement and staff development programs.
  • Facilitate effective communication among healthcare team members for optimal care.
  • Educate and mentor junior nursing staff and support ongoing learning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current RN license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent accredited qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric intensive care setting is required.
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is mandatory.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Willingness to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
