Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in the healthcare industry, providing essential care to patients and working alongside doctors and other healthcare professionals. RNs are responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. They must have excellent clinical skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a compassionate nature to support patients and their families. The role demands a commitment to lifelong learning and the ability to adapt to various clinical settings, whether in hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities. A Registered Nurse must also comply with state regulations and uphold the highest standards of nursing practices and ethics.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall health conditions.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids to patients as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for patient care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on health assessment results.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of medical equipment and supplies during patient care.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and perform life-saving interventions when necessary.
  • Participate in the development and modification of hospital policies and nursing care standards.
  • Conduct patient discharge planning and ensure continuity of care after leaving the hospital.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance nursing skills and competencies.
  • Promote a compassionate and respectful environment while upholding patient confidentiality and dignity.

Requirements

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse is mandatory.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Proven clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress and fast-paced medical environments.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and medical documentation systems.
  • Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
