Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' health problems and needs while developing and implementing nursing care plans.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and patient health records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care strategies.
  • Supervise and direct less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel, or supervise any assigned nursing staff.
  • Provide health education to patients and their families to promote illness prevention and health maintenance.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Evaluate patients' outcomes and adjust nursing care plans accordingly to optimize patient recovery.
  • Assist with the setup and proper use of equipment and medical devices for patient care.
  • Advocate for patients' rights, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to secure resources needed for care.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and continually enhance nursing expertise through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or basic life support treatment until professional medical help arrives.

Requirements

  • Current and unencumbered registered nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school preferred.
  • At least two years of clinical nursing experience in acute or primary care settings.
  • Strong understanding of medical protocols, treatment plans, and healthcare services.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare software systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality patient care.
