Job Overview:


Responsible for preparing and verifying Bills of Quantities (BOQ), reviewing site measurements, and ensuring accurate contractor payments. Oversees contract compliance, evaluates work progress, and supports project reporting and post-contract activities.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), including measurements and handling queries related to completing the measurements.

  • Be conversant with contract management activities and gain experience in contract terms and procedures.

  • Review drawings, executed quantities, and measurement sheets submitted by subcontractors and invoices for discrepancies or differences.

  • Discuss and attempt to reach mutual agreement with the contractor on rates for new work items not covered in the BOQ and submit rates to the employer for approval.

  • Review all site measurements provided by the contractor in case of changes to ensure correctness and incorporate them into payments.

  • Evaluate actual work accomplishment to ascertain the amount to be stated as due in Interim Certificates.

  • Maintain proper records of agreed measurement-oriented/item rate variations with the client’s authorized representative and ensure compliance.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and advise management on contractual matters of the project.

  • Schedule workload efficiently to ensure contractors’ payments are processed within the stipulated contract timelines.

  • Prepare payment applications and agree with the client.

  • Examine, control, and evaluate subcontractor invoices to ensure contractual obligations are met.

  • Understand the contents and details of the BOQ, including the preamble and any other documents relating to contractor payments.

  • Perform all post-contract duties, including measurements, preparation of variation orders, analysis of site design changes, interim valuation certificates, final accounts, and evaluation reports.


Required Qualifications & Competencies:



  • BE/B. Tech in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the Oil & Gas industry.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and isometrics.

  • Strong experience with Excel and database management tools.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with engineers at all levels and across multiple functions.

  • Strong work ethic, commitment, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and senior management.

  • Demonstrates teamwork, integrity, continuous learning, and improvement.

  • Excellent influencing skills when coordinating with various project functions.
