Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical)

Job Title: Quantity and Claims Engineer – Mechanical Works

Job Purpose:
To manage all quantity surveying, cost estimation, and preparation and administration of contractual claims related to construction and engineering projects, ensuring accurate valuation of works and compliance with contract terms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates based on design drawings and specifications.
• Monitor project budgets, variations, and cost forecasts to ensure financial control.
• Verify progress measurements for ongoing projects and prepare monthly valuations for interim payments.
• Prepare and submit variation time sheets and cost estimates.
• Review contract documents, correspondence, and project records to identify potential claims and variations.
• Coordinate with project teams, planners, and legal/contract departments to ensure timely claim submissions.
• Prepare periodic commercial reports summarizing financial status, claims, and variations.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on all commercial and contractual matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in quantity surveying, contracts, or claims roles within construction or EPC projects.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD, cost management tools).
