The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in Psychology (Social/Social-Developmental), with a primary focus at the Assistant Professor level, though candidates at all ranks are welcome to apply.
We are seeking applications from candidates in social psychology, including those whose research focuses on core social psychological processes, incorporates developmental perspectives, or sits at the intersection of social and developmental psychology. The ideal candidate will complement the core strengths of our faculty working in the social and developmental areas: PJ Henry, Jaime Napier, Jennifer Sheehy-Skeffington, Andrea Vial, Antje von Suchodoletz, and Theodore Waters.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant, supportive, research-active program, with outstanding teaching and research resources and broad opportunities for interdisciplinary research. Faculty will have opportunities to collaborate across NYU’s global campus network.
Research Facilities
Successful candidates will have access to a faculty research grant including personnel lines, in addition to state-of-the-art facilities including: (1) An imaging center housing a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI scanner and two MEG systems (SQUID and OPM), with support for multimodal data acquisition (MEG+EEG+eytracking; fMRI+EEG) and dedicated technical staff, in addition to integration with a High Performance Computing facility with more than 6,400 computing cores, (2) Behavioral testing facilities equipped with standalone EEGs, eye-tracking, virtual reality, physiological measures (GSR, heart rate, etc.), and robotics, and social psychology experimental rooms; (3) State-of-the-art Child Observation Lab equipped with video and audio recording technology, a one-way observation window, and a connected control room.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field, a demonstrated record or trajectory toward high-impact, internationally recognized research, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse undergraduate student body.
