POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
Position Summary
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services required to support the development, production, and sustainment of propulsion systems. Reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain, the incumbent will ensure that procurement activities are aligned with organizational objectives, program requirements, and regulatory standards.
This role requires a strong background in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization, with the ability to work effectively in a complex, regulated, and technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including requisition processing, purchase order issuance, and supplier communications.
Ensure on-time delivery of critical materials and components to support engineering, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement records in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure alignment with quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when required.
Support the Head of Supply Chain in establishing long-term strategic supply agreements.
Contracting & Negotiation
Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, achieving best value in terms of cost, quality, and risk mitigation.
Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts and purchase agreements in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams.
Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements, including ITAR, export controls, and industry standards.
Cost & Risk Management
Drive procurement cost savings through value engineering, competitive sourcing, and supplier consolidation.
Monitor market trends, lead times, and raw material availability to mitigate risks and maintain supply continuity.
Contribute to make-or-buy analyses and support business case development for sourcing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Quality to ensure procurement activities align with program milestones.
Support design-to-cost initiatives and provide supply chain input to product development projects.
Report regularly to the Head of Supply Chain on procurement performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree desirable).
Professional certifications (CIPS, ISM CPSM, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
7–10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Experience within propulsion systems, aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing industries preferred.
Proven track record of supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and digital procurement tools.

Position based at Tawazun Industrial Park, Abu Dhabi.
