Job Description

The Operations Manager in Logistics plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain processes. They oversee the entire logistics flow from acquisition of goods to distribution and delivery to end-users. This professional is responsible for optimizing logistics efficiencies and reinforcing supply chain integrity through strategic planning and operational oversight. An effective Operations Manager must stay attuned to market trends, regulatory compliance, and technological advancements to enhance logistics capabilities. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics operations and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee and direct day-to-day logistics activities and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure seamless supply flow.
  • Manage a team of logistics staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics regulations and safety standards at all times.
  • Prepare and control logistics budgets, monitoring expenditures and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze logistics data and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvements.
  • Negotiate with third-party service providers to secure beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Utilize logistics management software for tracking shipments and streamlining processes.
  • Implement risk management processes to mitigate delays and disruptions in logistics.
  • Recommend and employ innovative solutions and technologies to enhance logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and fulfill logistic requirements and strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics management or similar roles in a comparable industry.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain concepts, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing logistics teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and advanced MS Office skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
