Oliver Wyman is one of the market leaders in GCC public sector strategy consulting. Our Abu Dhabi office is looking to appoint consultants to support its continued expansion in the government and public sector, a strategic priority for the firm. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a successful team early in its development. Consultants are given the opportunity for rapid professional growth, to participate in entrepreneurial work, and to share in the success of the team.Our teams are organized around several different specializations: Economic & social development, investment promotion and strategies, governance, fiscal & monetary policies, human capital, tourism, culture & entertainment, amongst others.

The Role And Responsibilities

We provide industry- and discipline-specific knowledge and expertise, which amplifies our impact and helps us shape the future for our clients. Oliver Wyman is a diverse, entrepreneurial, non-competitive partnership of individuals who like to pursue new opportunities or build a unique franchise doing what they do best in a collegial, fun environment.

PRINCIPALS are experts in particular content areas and provide day-to-day leadership of complex client projects and aspects of the client relationship as well as the commercial process, teaming with Partners. They ensure excellent project delivery that meets or exceeds agreed upon goals, leveraging Oliver Wyman best practice as well as their own expertise. They become trusted advisors to senior clients, with the ability to guide and influence their thinking, and are viewed as experts in particular content areas. 

Oliver Wyman Principals are seen as Partners of the future and, as such, are fully engaged in building business through identifying new and expanded opportunities; they create exciting intellectual capital through thought leadership and are knowledgeable on a broad range of adjacent topics. Principals develop others and build a strong personal brand both within and outside the firm. 



We welcome applicants with a proven track record of excellence. Successful applicants typically have extensive subject matter expertise, as well as previous experience in managing projects with tight deadlines, excel within a team environment, and establishing and maintaining strong business relationships within a consulting environment. Key responsibilities: 

  • Leading teams of consultants in complex analysis and problem-solving including problem structuring, analytical techniques, synthesis, and recommendation development 
  • Leading project execution through excellent case management: work planning, managing workflow, upward management, and coaching/developing team members 
  • Managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously 
  • Developing trusted relationships with clients and managing client relationships and networks, presenting to board audiences, and working day to day with clients 
  • Together with a Partner team, leading business development and sales efforts 

Your Attributes And Experience

Clients hire Oliver Wyman for specialized expertise. The ideal candidate will have most of the following:

  • A degree from a top academic program
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm (or similar organization).
  • Experience in leading projects in the governmental/ public sector institutions, ideally in the GCC region
  • A track record of leading and managing teams and clients, and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environments 
  • Ability to apply content knowledge, provide thought leadership in project execution, and to develop new intellectual capital to support business development activities 
  • A strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills; comfort in presenting to senior executives, both internally and to clients 
  • A strong can-do attitude, willingness to take the initiative, curiosity and desire to learn
  • Arabic language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
