Job Description

A Merchandiser II is an advanced professional who plays a critical role in ensuring that retail spaces are optimized for sales success. This position typically involves planning and implementing merchandising strategies that increase sales and customer engagement within a store or a chain of stores. As a Merchandiser II, one is expected to have a keen understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and retail inventory management. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with company goals.
  • Analyze sales reports and customer data to guide merchandising decisions.
  • Create visually appealing product displays to enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely stock replenishment and availability.
  • Monitor competitor activity to identify new merchandising opportunities and threats.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to plan promotional activities and campaigns.
  • Train store staff on visual merchandising techniques and standards.
  • Ensure that product prices are accurate and correctly displayed in the store.
  • Evaluate store layouts and propose improvements to maximize sales space.
  • Track and report on merchandising performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and propose strategies for clearance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and integrate them into merchandising plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in merchandising or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to create and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Creative mindset with a strong eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  • Proficient in retail management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
