Job Description

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer plays a critical role in building and construction projects by ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are effectively integrated. The MEP Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating these systems, ensuring that they are functional, efficient, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. They work closely with architects, other engineers, and construction teams to ensure that the building’s systems meet the project’s specifications and client requirements. An MEP Engineer is instrumental in resolving complex issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, requiring a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to navigate the challenges of modern construction projects.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for building projects.
  • Coordinate with architects and construction teams for system integration.
  • Analyze building plans and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor installation and system performance.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to MEP systems during construction.
  • Review and approve technical drawings and documentation from subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for MEP systems within projects.
  • Implement energy-efficient and sustainable solutions for building systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on system installations, progress, and issues.
  • Manage project deadlines and ensure timely completion of system installations.
  • Work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with standards and codes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in MEP engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse project teams.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
