This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Lead with a proven track record in overseeing the design, execution, and optimization of well completion processes to maximize production efficiency and ensure operational safety.

The Key Objectives For This Role Are

  • Developing strategies tailored to geological conditions to maximize production efficiency.
  • Choosing and overseeing the deployment of tools like packers, perforating guns, and sand control systems.
  • Collaborating with drilling engineers, geologists, and production teams to align completion strategies with overall project goals.
  • Analyzing well data post-completion to assess productivity and implement interventions like well stimulation.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and environmental standards throughout the completion process

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Commissioning Coordinators in executing systems tasks and activities, and development and reporting.
  • Lead the execution of commissioning procedures for assigned mechanical/process systems.
  • Provide daily, on-site/in-field leadership, execution coordination of a multi-discipline team of mechanical commissioning technicians.
  • Interact with Engineering and Operations team for input and draw from past experience and knowledge when executing procedures.
  • Acceptance of Mechanically Complete Sub system packages from Construction
  • Punch List management and responsibility of offered Sub systems / Systems.
  • Prepare job cards for Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning activities.
  • Work with project HSE leadership to develop appropriate Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) for the mechanical commissioning team commissioning activities.
  • Ensure Technicians work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner in accordance with site procedures and PTW system.
  • Read, interpret and work from vendor documentation, project drawings, schematic diagrams and equipment manuals.
  • Identify personnel and equipment resources necessary to perform mechanical commissioning activities for assigned systems.
  • Attend key mechanical/process equipment factory acceptance tests.
  • Requisition parts and supplies and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Support Coordinator in management of mechanical vendor during the commissioning phase for the assigned systems.
  • Liaise with CMS Custodian ensuring integrity of database, amendments, Punch Lists and documentation, reports progress /status.
  • Maintain records and prepare regular and special reports on mechanical and process systems.
  • Analyze work problems and make corrections, which will facilitate the completion of assignments.
  • Read, understand and follow Permit to Work procedures.
  • Proficient with BSEE, ABS and USCG Regulations for Offshore Deepwater Facilities.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with direct supervision and other departments.
  • Other duties may be assigned or requested

Physical Requirements

  • Employee must be able to see and read reports.
  • Employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hand and fingers, reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers. Field Employees must be able to pass an audiometric test.
  • Employee must be able to safely traverse stairs.
  • Employee must be able to pass pa medical “Fit for Duty” physical and drug screen.
  • Offshore employees must be able to pass HUET/METS.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in this environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud (86 dcl). Employee must wear hearing protection when necessary.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock or mechanical hazards

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Supervise and lead mechanical commissioning technicians to a successful completion and injury free activities and tasks. This includes mechanical technician oversight and assignment of duties.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: Keen safety awareness and advocacy; multi-discipline technical team leadership, planning and coordination of work within a simultaneous operations environment, having technical expertise relevant to design and operation of assigned systems and liaising with equipment engineers, equipment vendors, construction personnel and operations team members. Commissioning Leads will receive assigned systems from the Commissioning Coordinator and deliver their assigned systems, with Commissioning team support, fully commissioned and operationally ready, to the Client Operations Team.

CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for understanding and executing Wood’s Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all phases of the project. Personal safety awareness and team safety awareness are necessary.

Education And Experience

Proven background, typically 5 years minimum in offshore Oil & Gas Completion and Commissioning activities in a Lead Technician or Engineer’s role. Proven Supervisory experience in a Commissioning role in mechanical, process and piping. Proficient written and oral English language communication skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) in a primary Engineering discipline.
