Job Description

The role of a Maintenance Project Manager is a pivotal one, requiring a strategic approach to managing and overseeing various maintenance projects within an organization. This position demands an individual with a strong background in project management, combined with technical expertise in maintenance operations. The Maintenance Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance processes are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. As a leader, they must coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure all projects align with organizational goals. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems swiftly and effectively. The ideal candidate will be someone who is proactive, organized, and possesses a robust understanding of maintenance planning and execution.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance project plans aligning with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities of maintenance project teams.
  • Ensure all maintenance projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors for project-related services.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Implement safety policies and procedures for maintenance project activities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project status and updates.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for projects.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure project standards are met.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues during projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project staff and team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management or maintenance.
  • Proven track record of managing complex maintenance projects successfully.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of safety and compliance regulations in the maintenance industry.
  • Certification in PMP, Six Sigma, or related project management accreditation.
