Job Description

The Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of supply chain processes by coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all logistics activities within an organization. This critical position is responsible for managing everything from the acquisition, distribution, and warehousing to the transportation of goods. A Logistics Officer collaborates with vendors and suppliers, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained, and delivery timelines are met. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to optimize logistical operations and processes.
  • Ensure all logistical processes are compliant with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for better service terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouses to ensure efficient storage and distribution.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet delivery and transport requirements.
  • Oversee and manage transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Resolve delivery and shipment issues promptly to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align logistics strategies with organizational goals.
  • Analyze logistical data and report on key performance indicators and metrics regularly.
  • Implement cost-savings initiatives to reduce logistic expenses without sacrificing quality.
  • Conduct risk assessments to preemptively identify and mitigate logistics-related risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Officer or in a similar logistics or supply chain role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle logistical challenges adeptly.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet pressing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology for efficient operations management.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills for managing suppliers and vendors effectively.
  • Solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles and practices.
