This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer - Instrumentation with a proven track record in understanding of the complexities involved in large-scale Gas Processing projects to meet objectives for a high-profile client.

The Key Objectives For This Role Are

• Setting technical direction and guiding engineering teams in designing and implementing advanced control systems.
• Managing large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, budgets, and timelines.
• Driving improvements in automation, control strategies, and system efficiency.
• Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and mitigating risks in control system operations.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers to enhance technical expertise.
• Coordinating with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to align project goals with business objectives.
  
  

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate
• Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the design
• Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and / or those issued
• Be responsible for the checking or approval of basis of design, process calculations, safety related calculations to develop the robust design
• Review and approve I & C Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Instrumentation Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart etc.
• Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
• Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design
• Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
• Review and approve safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews as required
• Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
• Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project
• Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed
• Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
• Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers, Engineering Manager / Discipline heads
• Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team
• Assist project team in the preparation of planning package, scheduling, weekly reporting etc.
• Assist as required in the preparation of pre - commissioning, commission procedures and operating Manuals
• Provided assistance in Manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals

Expected

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.
• Must have at least 5 (five) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects
• Experience in Instrumentation Designing.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
• Experience of working in a multi - project / multi - disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
