As a Landscaping Estimator, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, providing critical assessments and projections for various projects. Tasked with evaluating landscaping plans and specifications, your primary role will comprise of performing cost analysis, resource utilization, and budget preparations. With a keen eye for detail, you will work closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure the accuracy of cost data and project estimates. Your role will drive the financial blueprint for projects, supporting decision-making processes with strategic insights and detailed reports. You are expected to possess strong analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of landscaping materials and current market prices, and the ability to foresee potential project challenges. Reporting directly to the project management team, your efficiency in producing detailed and accurate estimates will significantly contribute to the operational success and growth of the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for landscaping projects, including labor and materials.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project budgets.
• Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for estimating projects accurately.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and pricing trends.
• Identify, analyze, and manage all project risks relating to cost estimations.
• Create and present detailed proposal documents to stakeholders and clients.
• Review and analyze historical data for preparing comprehensive project estimates.
• Continuously update estimation databases and improve estimation accuracy over time.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on estimation analysis to enhance project efficiency.
• Participate in post-project evaluations to refine estimation parameters through feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in landscape estimating or a similar role.
• Proficiency in estimating software and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to develop accurate project estimates.
• Strong understanding of landscaping materials, construction methods, and relevant costs.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permit acquisition processes.
