Junior Research Scientist In The Division Of Science Biology - Mohamed Al-Sayegh

The Al-Sayegh Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist position. The laboratory investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying embryonic stem cell differentiation, with interests in stem cell biology, cellular differentiation, genomics, and integrated molecular approaches.

The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing stem cell and genomics research projects and will participate in experimental design, data generation, analysis, and interpretation. The Junior Research Scientist will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other members of the research team in developing and executing research projects.

Responsibilities will include conducting molecular and cell biology experiments, maintaining mammalian cell cultures, supporting stem cell differentiation experiments, collecting and analyzing experimental data, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and contributing to the preparation of scientific presentations and manuscripts. The successful candidate will also contribute to the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, including maintaining laboratory organization, monitoring supplies and inventory, coordinating laboratory orders, and supporting compliance with laboratory procedures and research protocols.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field. Previous research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, stem cell biology, or a related area is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a strong interest in scientific research. Experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques, microscopy, quantitative data analysis, or computational analysis would be advantageous.

The appointment is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026, and will be for two years, subject to applicable NYU Abu Dhabi appointment policies. Competitive salary and benefits packages are available.
