Junior Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to participate in the Design of ITS systems for various projects in Abu Dhabi.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the design and documentation of ITS infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist in preparing network layouts, equipment specifications, cable routing and interface drawings for ITS systems.
• Review and understand the requirements of subsystems such as CCTV, VMS, traffic sensors, controllers, and communication devices.
• Contribute to the development of technical submissions, drawings, and bill of quantities (BOQs).
• Participate in design coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work closely with the ITS and infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of communication networks with field ITS equipment.
• Learn and apply relevant ITS standards, technologies, and protocols over time.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in low voltage systems design or implementation, including: Field communication systems; Fiber optic cabling and splicing principles; Network devices (switches, routers, patch panels); Security and CCTV Devices and systems; Familiarity with structured cabling, field cabinets, and basic power systems.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• CCNA or CCNP certification (or in progress) is a strong advantage.
• Capability to work with CAD and BIM design tools.
• Good knowledge of network design and implementation.
• Prior exposure to ITS components such as Traffic Signals, CCTV, VMS, radar detectors, or SCADA is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret network schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Soft Skills: Eagerness to learn and grow within the ITS domain; Strong communication and teamwork skills; Attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical documentation; Willingness to work under the mentorship of senior engineers and contribute to collaborative project delivery.
• Working Conditions: Office-based design role with occasional site visits for coordination or inspections, as needed; Mentoring and development will be provided to build ITS domain knowledge; Opportunity to advance into a specialized ITS engineering role within the company..
