Job Description

The IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of an organization's IT systems. This involves addressing and resolving IT-related issues for end-users, maintaining computer networks, and providing technical assistance and support. The specialist is the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware and software problems, making their role vital for maintaining productivity in the workplace. Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support and resolve IT issues for end-users promptly and efficiently.
  • Perform system and software installations ensuring that all systems are operating correctly.
  • Monitor and maintain computer networks, preventing any potential network issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Deploy software updates and maintain accuracy of the latest software across systems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords to ensure data security.
  • Document technical procedures and support processes for future reference and training.
  • Assist with the setup of new hardware and software as the organization expands or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
  • Stay informed of emerging IT trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
  • Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure through regular updates and checks.
  • Provide feedback and insights regarding potential process improvements or system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and relevant hardware/software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach to IT support.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users effectively and patiently.
  • Familiarity with security practices and handling of confidential information sensitively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied work schedules, including potential on-call support.
