Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is a critical role within our organization, responsible for managing and safeguarding the inventory. The role requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual committed to maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring the accuracy of records, and controlling shrink. As part of the supply chain management team, the Inventory Control Specialist also helps streamline the inventory operations to enhance efficiency and support business goals. The individual in this role will interact with various departments to keep track of the inventory system, perform regular audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This position is vital in ensuring that the business runs smoothly, minimizing delays and discrepancies in the inventory process.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing inventory tracking software and systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts to correlate with system records.
  • Investigate discrepancies and provide solutions to inventory inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to reconcile inventory variances.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor stock levels and order new inventory to avoid theft and damages.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast future demands for inventory management.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to streamline receiving and stocking processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports of inventory operations and productivity metrics regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist management with inventory audits and related administrative tasks.
  • Lead or participate in special projects to enhance inventory control processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control or related areas.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail for inventory accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members.
