This will ensure that activities relating to mechanical engineering and equipment packages within the assigned project are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively, in accordance with the contract specifications, quality standards and safety/environmental requirements .

Job Opportunity: Instrumentation Designer L2About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer L2 to join our engineering team supporting major Oil & Gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, company procedures, and international standards.

This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Piping, Electrical, and Control Systems disciplines, to ensure the successful integration of instrumentation within industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for Oil & Gas projects.
  • Prepare and update instrumentation design documentation and project deliverables.
  • Apply engineering standards, design criteria, and company procedures throughout project execution.
  • Utilize engineering software such as SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • Support hydraulic calculations, thermal design activities, and technical verification processes.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design issues and ensure project consistency.
  • Review and maintain technical documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in instrumentation design within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation design methodologies, engineering workflows, and project execution practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and reviewing P&IDs and instrumentation documentation.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills in multidisciplinary environments.

Technical Skills

Candidates must be proficient in the following engineering tools:

  • SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
  • SmartPlant P&ID
  • AutoCAD
  • MicroStation

Experience with additional engineering and design software will be considered an advantage.
