Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated Industrial Engineer I to support the industrialization and optimization of manufacturing processes within ammunition production environments. This role focuses on translating product designs into safe, efficient, and repeatable production systems, while driving productivity, cost efficiency, and compliance with strict safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering designs into manufacturable production processes and workflows
  • Support industrialization and New Product Introduction (NPI) from design release to production readiness
  • Develop process documentation including flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions
  • Define tooling, fixtures, equipment, and production routings for new products
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing to improve efficiency
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance throughput and reliability
  • Support pilot builds, qualification runs, and first article production
  • Monitor production KPIs (efficiency, yield, scrap, downtime) and support corrective actions
  • Assist in capacity planning, cost estimation, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Collect and analyze production data, preparing reports and insights for improvement
  • Apply Lean methodologies and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, explosive handling, and regulatory requirements across all processes

Qualifications

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (or graduate programme/IGNITE equivalent)
  • Exposure to NPI/industrialization processes is advantageous
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles
  • Familiarity with time study and work measurement techniques

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Structured approach to root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
  • Ability to interpret production and process data
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution discipline
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail in safety-critical environments
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
