Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Indian Chef to join our culinary team, known for delivering authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Indian culinary traditions, spices, and cooking techniques and will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that meet our standards of excellence. The Indian Chef will work closely with other kitchen staff and management to create a menu that celebrates the rich and diverse flavors of India while also incorporating contemporary culinary trends. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes following traditional recipes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Develop and customize menus to reflect seasonal and regional specialties.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring health and safety standards.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and order supplies as needed for recipes.
  • Experiment with new recipes and adjust flavors to enhance dishes.
  • Ensure consistent presentation and quality of food served to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding menu updates and improvements.
  • Handle food preparation tasks while minimizing waste and maximizing resources.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate new cooking methods.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Indian chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
  • Excellent culinary skills and the ability to cook under pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and train kitchen staff.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations is mandatory.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification in Indian cuisine is preferred.
