HSE Officer ensures safety compliance by conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and safety training in the Oil & Gas sector. They support accident prevention, enforce safety policies, and help maintain a hazard-free work environment aligned with industry regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
Conduct HSE orientation, induction, and awareness sessions for workers to ensure a strong safety culture at site.
Monitor, inspect, and audit all site operations for compliance with statutory HSE regulations and company safety policy.
Implement and review site-specific HSE plans, welfare arrangements, emergency procedures, and work instructions.
Ensure practical implementation and oversight of Safe Systems of Work (PTW, WMS, risk assessment, etc.).
Demonstrate awareness and operational control of H2S hazards, including appropriate preventive measures.
Perform regular HSE inspections and investigate incidents, identifying immediate and root causes and ensuring proper reporting.
Accurately maintain site safety files, inspection records, statutory forms, incident logs, and monthly safety reports for management.
Enforce site safety rules and address non-compliance by issuing improvement notices or warnings as required.
Promote safety awareness on site through briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination of internal/external training programs.
Monitor and verify site security, the activities of medical attendants, and ensure readiness of medical supplies.
Review and approve risk assessments and method statements for hazardous activities, recommending contingency arrangements.
Proactively identify potential hazard areas, raise suggestions for safety improvements, and foster a collaborative safety environment.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
Any Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (from an accredited institution authorized to grant academic degrees in its country of origin).
Minimum 5 years overall HSE experience, including at least 2 years monitoring HSE implementation in the Oil & Gas industry.
Minimum one of the following:
NEBOSH IGC or Equivalent (subject to ADNOC Group approval)
Other HSE certifications (considered at ADNOC’s discretion)
HSE plan implementation, Permit to Work (PTW) system, Gas Testing, H2S & Breathing Apparatus, Road Safety, Management of Subcontractors’ HSE.

Abu Dhabi requirement:
In addition to the above qualifications, HSE Managers working in Abu Dhabi must have successfully completed the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH SF) Practitioners Course and hold a valid “Grade A” registration.
