To support the engineering activities across dnata technical services GSE and Cargo pertaining to asset lifecycle management, including but not limited to asset refurbishment & reliability improvement programs, asset specification, technical evaluation of tenders and initiatives and developing cost-effective solutions in response to technical, operational and safety audit findings.
In This Role You Will
Plan
Analyses repetitive breakdowns and frequently used parts to identify root cause of failures and plan corrective measures.
Analyses information from various systems (Maintenance Management, Vehicle Tracking, Fuel Management) to identify improvements to the current maintenance programs for all core equipment types.
Identifies the requirements of GSE refurbishment and provides relevant information to dTS management for decision making. Once approved, guides the workshop team in completion of the refurbishment programme.
Works with suppliers and industry contacts, in the technical development of GSE specifications, new equipment implementation, embracing innovation and new technology.
Develops and manages Technical Specification Library. GSE specification should be reviewed and revised regularly to reflect changes in AHM, customer requirements and safety inputs.
Deploy
Ensures a safe cost effective maintenance operation by identifying failure trends and developing engineering solutions to eliminate the trends and improve serviceability. Reviews feedback for continuous improvement.
Supports Quality team in the delivery of the Technical Standards programme to support dTS maintenance activities.
Manages relationship between dTS and OEM vendors relating to all technical issues including engineering, quality, warranty, service bulletins, refurbishments and spare parts issues etc.
Lead
Reviews and compares technical offers received from multiple vendors as part of tender process and provides Technical Evaluation reports and score cards.
Co-ordinates the commissioning and training activity of new equipment.
Organises trials of new equipment, by co-ordinating with relevant stake holders and provide necessary Technical reports to management.
Execute
Ensures safety of staff and that they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support, direction , being a role model for the desired safety behaviours and leading with safety.
Supports Technical investigation report process to support dnata safety investigations. Reviews the safety investigation reports provided by workshop and provide final approval as engineering SME. Provide inputs to safety CAPA as and when required.
Prepares Asset Modification and Change Authorisation (AMCA) to ensure that all modifications are logged, analysed, costed, reviewed with the OEM and approved by relevant stakeholders prior to implementation.
Organises and regularly check Technical Libraries and ensures all manuals and records are up-to-date (excludes CAR 145/ Part 145)
Follows all relevant departmental and safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Coordinates with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all equipment trials are conducted and results reported to allow decision making.
Reviews the audit reports on the maintenance programme to ensure that the programmes meet all required objectives consistently.
Coordinates asset enhancement and modification programs to ensure that these are aligned to the plan and completed within the agreed cost & time-frame. Updates all relevant technical documents as appropriate, to account for changes resulting from asset enhancements and modifications.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive / Electrical & Electronics.
Bachelor Degree Holder: 4-6 years of experience within a large maintenance organization, ideally with subject matter expertise on the maintenance and engineering airport ground service equipment (GSE).
OR Diploma Holder: 6-8 years of experience within a large maintenance organization, ideally with subject matter expertise on the maintenance and engineering of airport ground service equipment (GSE).
Additional knowledge on cargo/material handling systems (MHS) will be an added advantage.
