Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that the cleanliness standards of the organization are upheld at the highest level. This position requires you to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department and ensure that the staff follows exceptional quality standards. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, your tasks will include monitoring the work of the housekeeping staff, coordinating activities, inspecting areas, resolving issues, and providing training where required. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while consistently aiming to contribute to a great guest experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of cleaning processes and hygiene standards.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and inspect the quality of work performed by the housekeeping staff.
  • Schedule and oversee daily assignments for housekeeping team members.
  • Ensure the availability of cleaning supplies and order inventory as needed.
  • Develop and implement housekeeping policies and procedures for improved operations.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff for repair needs and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor workload to ensure housekeeping tasks are completed on time.
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping services quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping operations and productivity metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Organize and manage special project requests such as deep cleaning or event setups.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality is desirable.
  • Proven experience as a housekeeping supervisor or similar role in the hospitality sector.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning processes, hygiene standards, and equipment usage.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for effective prioritization.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication abilities for team management.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to inspect areas for cleanliness and items needing attention.
  • Ability to handle complaints professionally and resolve them efficiently.
  • Familiarity with safety measures and compliance with health regulations.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management and scheduling software is a plus.
