Heavy Bus Driver (225-924)

We are seeking a professional and experienced Heavy Bus Driver to join our transportation team. Operating primarily in a municipal or long-distance setting, the Heavy Bus Driver ensures passengers are transported in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and involves maintaining compliance with all governmental transportation regulations. Additionally, the driver must be proactive in understanding and applying mechanical and logistical protocols to handle various operational challenges. Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy bus on designated routes and within schedule timeframes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
• Prioritize passenger safety by adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Ensure a friendly and professional environment for all passengers throughout the journey.
• Effectively communicate with dispatchers for instructions and updates during shifts.
• Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, mileage, and route timings.
• Report any mechanical issues or incidents promptly to the maintenance department.
• Assist passengers with special needs in boarding and alighting the bus safely.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to emergency situations and ensure passenger safety.
• Collaborate with management on operational improvements and service efficiency.
• Participate in continuous training programs for skill enhancement and safety updates.
• Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the bus before and after shifts.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum of three years' experience driving heavy vehicles or buses.
• Strong knowledge of transportation laws and traffic regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on passenger satisfaction.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with passengers and team members.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
