A Financial Reporting Officer plays a crucial role within a finance team by overseeing the preparation and dissemination of financial reports. This position ensures compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines, while also providing insightful analysis to drive strategic decision-making. The Financial Reporting Officer works closely with other financial professionals and departments, interpreting financial data and maintaining up-to-date financial records to support the organization’s overall financial health. Fluency in financial reporting standards, GAAP, or IFRS is essential for ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. The ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner is vital for collaboration and presentation to senior management and stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reports to management.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends and variances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the consolidation of financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial databases and reporting systems.
  • Stay informed about the latest financial reporting standards and updates.
  • Develop and implement improved reporting processes and systems for efficiency.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership clearly.
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance to the finance team.
  • Prepare and present financial projections and budgets to support strategic planning.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is required.
  • Proven experience of at least three years in financial reporting roles.
  • A professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and experience with ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and reporting.
