Job Description

The Financial Controller plays a crucial role in the financial health and operational success of an organization. Entrusted with safeguarding the company's assets, the Financial Controller ensures the credibility of financial information and manages risk efficiently. This role demands an individual who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing financial departments, including accounting and financial reporting. They are accountable for producing accurate and timely financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations that affect the organization. As part of the senior management team, the Financial Controller collaborates closely with other executives and stakeholders to craft strategic initiatives that drive organizational growth and profitability. With their extensive experience in finance and leadership, they guide the company towards fiscal responsibility and long-term financial stability.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure adherence to reporting standards.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Cost Accounting.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and related reports.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful audit processes and compliance checks.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance department.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to assist senior management in decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements at local and federal levels.
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals for optimal performance and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA, CMA, or CA is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of managerial accounting and budgeting experience required.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills and experience in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities imperative for the role.
