Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Quality Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and compliance of data and digital assets, developing quality assurance frameworks and managing metadata within the organization. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to align quality standards, promote continuous improvement, and maintain regulatory compliance across the healthcare ecosystem. Key responsibilities include implementing and monitoring quality and metadata management practices, defining performance indicators, and ensuring data protection and privacy compliance. The specialist also supports training on best practices and conducts risk assessments to safeguard data quality and utilization.?

As a Data Quality Specialist, you will work closely with Data Governance, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science and other relevant stakeholders across the organization to measure, monitor, report and ultimately contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality across the organization.

This role will report into Head of Data and Digital Governance and will have hands-on experience in cloud platforms (eg, Azure), DBMS platforms (eg, SQL, Databricks)

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance frameworks for data and digital assets within the organization.?
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data quality rules and standards.
  • Design and execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for data and digital quality, regularly reporting on metrics and performance to internal and external stakeholders.?
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis on quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on quality metrics analysis.?
  • Provide training sessions and support to internal and external stakeholders on data and digital quality best practices.?
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential data and digital quality risks both within the organization and across the ecosystem.?
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations related to data and digital assets.?
  • Create and maintain documentation for data quality processes, standards, and best practices.

Metadata Management

  • Design, implement and monitor execution of metadata management strategies and practices.?
  • Setup Catalog and other metadata on MS Purview
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and governance of metadata to enhance data understanding and utilization

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to identify data quality issues and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with BI Team for creation of Quality Dashboards
  • Collaborate with internal business teams and stewards to establish and enforce data and digital quality standards, consistency in business terminologies and cataloging initiatives
  • Work closely with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders for Quality and Metadata Management
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with Healthcare Facilities to enhance data and digital quality, fostering interoperability and standardization within the healthcare community.?

Experience:

  • More than 7+ years of experience in information technology, with 5+ years spent in data analytics.
  • Experience in Data Quality Rules Management – defining and implementing.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Databricks
  • Experience working on Governance tools like Purview, Collibra, Informatica
  • Experience working on cloud platforms like Azure
  • Applying data governance practices with Databricks Unity Catalog for detailed data lineage tracking. Leveraging Databricks SQL for data quality validation and monitoring .
  • Proven experience in data quality and metadata management as a Data Analyst, Data Quality Specialist, Meta Data Manager, or in a similar role with strong hands-on experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Quality Standards and implementing them in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Governance, Data Security and Metadata Management best practices for managing sensitive data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in healthcare data management would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
