Data Platform Specialist

Role Summary:

The Data Platform Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of scalable, secure, and high‑performance cloud‑based data platforms that enable efficient data storage, processing, and analytics. The role ensures alignment with organizational goals, data governance standards, and emerging technologies to support data‑driven decision‑making and innovation.

The role holder is also responsible for developing AD Airports’ cloud security architecture and standards, ensuring that the Azure cloud environment and all hosted applications comply with security policies, standards, and best practices related to IaaS and PaaS cloud security.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering is mandatory. Preference will be given to someone with master’s degree in computer science or computer application
• Microsoft cloud certified, with a security specialism (AZ-500, MS-500), or equivalent
• Overall, 9 years; out of which minimum 6 years of experience in the related field

Required Experience:

• Experience with cloud security and on-premises software security (i.e., security engineer, security architect, DevOps engineer focused on security).
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services, such as AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google Big Query.
• Strong background in designing and implementing data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouses, tailored to business needs.
• Proficiency in building scalable ETL/ELT workflows and integrating data from diverse on-premises and cloud-based systems using tools like Apache Spark, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue.
• Experience working with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Kafka, Databricks) and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Expertise in designing cloud-native solutions that leverage serverless computing, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and microservices for data platforms.
• Experience with modern database technologies.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog) and automating deployments using CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and DevOps practices.
