Job Description

As a Credit Control Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the company's credit policies and ensuring the financial stability and operating efficiency of our credit control department. You will lead a team responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients, minimizing bad debts, and optimizing cash flow. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and a keen eye for detail. You'll interact with clients and internal departments to maintain effective credit control mechanisms, ensuring all financial transactions conform to company policies. With your strategic input and oversight, we aim to continually enhance our accounts receivable processes and maintain robust credit management frameworks.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of credit control professionals to maximize performance.
  • Assess creditworthiness of potential customers using various evaluation techniques.
  • Develop and implement credit control strategies to reduce risks and elevate cash flow.
  • Monitor debtor balances to ensure timely payment and maintain acceptable overdue levels.
  • Investigate customer queries and resolve disputes related to invoices promptly.
  • Provide credit analysis and reports for senior management decision-making processes.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers and set realistic credit limits accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with company regulations and credit management best practices.
  • Review existing credit policies and recommend enhancements for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to synchronize credit strategies and objectives.
  • Manage relations with external debt collectors to recover outstanding debts effectively.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on credit control processes and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven work experience in credit control management within a similar industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in credit evaluation methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of credit management software and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to handle client interactions effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic business environment.
